I am now the proud owner of Photoshop CS4 and Adobe Lightroom! (Well, Lightroom is being delivered today.) I am so excited and have already spent way too much time playing with Photoshop. I was going to post a picture of the box but I am way too lazy and my camera is upstairs – a trek that I am trying to make only once a day!

New Lens!
So, last week (right before my accident!) I received my new lens in the mail. I had ordered a Nikkor 50 mm 1.8 lens so that I would be able to take better portraits. That afternoon I played with it a little bit and here are some photos from that day. Yankee was being a good model for me! I LOVE it but I am definitely going to need some more practice with it. 🙂
Photoshop
I spent some time this evening before it got dark playing with my camera in the yard. Subsequently, I played with the pictures once I brought them in and put them on the computer. What I have decided from tonight’s project is that I really want CS4. Photoshop 7 just doesn’t cut it any more. It’s biggest drawback is that it can not open RAW files. So, I have to view my RAW files in Picasa (yes, the free photo editor) and then save them as JPEGs in order for Photoshop to open them. Oh, and another thing that I …

We don’t have much of a yard – Mike and I do not have green thumbs. When it comes to the house we are all for it but ask us where to plant something and we’ll look at you like you have 3 heads. New Camera!
So now the fun can really begin! I have upgraded from my wonderful 35mm Nikon camera to a Nikon D80. It is such an awesome camera – I can’t believe all the new things I can do with it. It is going to take me a long time to figure all of its features out.
