New find!

One of my favorite designers at the moment – Amy Butler – has just come out with new bedding lines (being sold at Bed Bath & Beyond) and also a rug line. I am super excited about the rug line! Here is the one that I want for our office – other than the dimensions it is exactly what I have been looking for. I haven’t figured out how to buy anything yet – I think that it is too new. Thought I would share. 🙂

Photoshop

I spent some time this evening before it got dark playing with my camera in the yard. Subsequently, I played with the pictures once I brought them in and put them on the computer. What I have decided from tonight’s project is that I really want CS4. Photoshop 7 just doesn’t cut it any more. It’s biggest drawback is that it can not open RAW files. So, I have to view my RAW files in Picasa (yes, the free photo editor) and then save them as JPEGs in order for Photoshop to open them. Oh, and another thing that I …

Update on our DIY project

We finished the chair rail in our study and living room last week. We also painted all the walls under the chair rail white – prepping them for our faux wainscoting treatment. Since we tore off the old chair rail and moved the new chair rail up higher we did some damage to the drywall. We thought paint might hide the imperfections but it doesn’t. So, alas, we have some repair work to do to our walls as well. So we’ll have pictures when those two rooms are complete! But for now here are some pictures of our kitchen. We …

4th of July (A little late!)

Last week flew by! My mom came to visit for a couple of days and it was so much fun! We went shopping ALOT and just hung out. She bought me my birthday present a little early…a sewing machine! Now I have no idea what I am doing yet but I hope to learn and become handy enough to do fun projects (nothing too complicated!). But the weekend before we celebrated the 4th of July with an old fashioned picnic with some friends, listening to the NC Symphony and watching the fireworks (and sitting in traffic forever but we won’t …

Some pictures from vacation!

Right before Katie & Greg’s wedding, Mike and I spent a week at Myrtle Beach with some good friends. 🙂 We had a lovely week just hanging out and relaxing on the beach. Here are some pictures that didn’t make it onto the blog before the wedding (life was just too busy!). The boys going boggie boarding (i.e. escaping the children!). Having a grand time at the beach! So tired! 🙂 Mini-golf! Little Ashley – love this girl! Us…our normal self-portrait picture! Jack & Ella playing with their sand toys. The whole gang!

Ambassador Presbyterian Groundbreaking

Our church has official broken ground for our new building this past Wednesday. This is a very exciting step for our church – about 11 years in the making! The ceremony consisted of prayer, words spoken by various people, the “official” groundbreaking and music. It was a sweet celebration on a beautiful evening. I was asked to take pictures so here is the link to all the pictures if you wish to take a look. Soon we’ll have some pictures of a building! APC Groundbreaking Ceremony

Flowers!

We don’t have much of a yard – Mike and I do not have green thumbs. When it comes to the house we are all for it but ask us where to plant something and we’ll look at you like you have 3 heads. Despite our lack of garden knowledge we have gotten a few things to grow – and they actually look nice. Here are some pictures from our front yard. 🙂 One day we’ll have a gorgeous yard…..
